Good morning beautiful people,
I do hope that you are all safe and healthy, wherever you are in the world.
It was such joy to read some of your responses to last week’s newsletter, that it made me want to come back for more.
Since I became a mama, my mind has been inhabited by a voice telling me that there is no time for it all, and that I simply cannot have it all.
By all, I mean having a healthy and happy child, a warm home, a healthy body and a calm mind, friends and family I laugh and cry with, alone time, culture, travels, a partner I adore, a job that lights me up…
Wanting it all also means that it’s never enough, and that maybe we don’t appreciate what we already have.
There is a saying that “the happiest people in life, make the best of what they have, now.”
So it actually feels nice to pause, and appreciate what’s in front of us, even if our mind tells us it is not much.
At the end of the day, the work of meditation enables us to watch the different narratives played by our mind, and not necessarily act on them or believe in them.
Being present, free of judgment and with compassion is what meditation is all about, and from that space we can create a solid foundation for more.
On this note, I would like to invite to take a deep inhale, and feel the air moving through your nostrils. As you breath out, how about appreciating one thing you have right now?
My wish for us all today, is that we see what is, before looking for the next best thing.
May we be healthy,
May we be happy,
May we be joyful.
With love and deep respect,
Vanessa
