Good morning beautiful people,
I do hope that you are well and healthy, wherever you are in the world.
I have written two newsletters since the last one you received in your inbox a fortnight ago, I save them in my drafts and they vanish… just like that there is not one trace of them. My interpretation is that though I am quite frustrated that my words have gone in vain, they were not meant to be shared with the world.
So here I am, ready to share another message, one I trust will reach you, if it’s meant to.
Chris Martin, the singer of the band Coldplay says in his song Fix You who he wrote for his then wife Gwyneth Paltrow: “When you try your best and you don’t succeed, when you get what you want but not what you need, when you feel so tired but you can’t sleep, stuck in reverse.” “ Lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones, and I will try to fix you.”
On this note, I am going to invite you to pause, and take a deep inhale. As you feel the air moving into your nostrils and maybe your belly expanding, you will automatically start to exhale. How about taking your time and slowly letting go of everything and anything that is in the way of what you need.
Some of you will already know this anthem by heart, others will not feel touched by these words, and though they are pretty self explanatory, what pops out the most is the second sentence about getting what you want but not what you need. Wouldn’t the world be a calmer, kinder and softer place if what we wanted served our highest good instead of our ego?
Aggressivity is a result of not getting what we need, feeling frustrated about it, not communicating well and disconnecting further from the self. We end up co living in a society of headless chicken until the body can’t take it anymore. But as the song says and when we slow down, lights will eventually guide us home and most likely, ignite our bones.
May we all feel love
May we feel pain
May we feel it all
With love and deep respect
Vanessa
