Good morning beautiful people,
I hope that you are safe and healthy, wherever you are in the world.
I didn’t get to wish you a happy new year last Friday, so my intention for today is first and foremost to send you my love for this already eventful first week of 2021. It’s been a long one to say the least and the quote below from the book When Things Fall Apart, by American Buddhist Tibetan nun, Pema Chaudron, felt appropriate:
“Everyday we could think about the aggression in the world, everybody always strikes out at the enemy, and the pain escalates forever… we could reflect on this and ask ourselves “Am I going to add to the aggression in this world?” Everyday… we can ask ourselves “Am I going to practice peace or am I going to war?”
Is Pema Chaudron talking about the way of the peaceful warrior, the one whose heart overflows with compassion yet knows its boundaries? We all need one another, more so now than ever before, even if we are physically barred from being in the same room, I am sure we can find alternatives to spread more of our heart with others.
On this note, I am going to invite you to take a deep inhale, feeling your feet on the ground, and your seat bones on the surface your might be sitting on… these are all doorways to access the peace that is present right now. When you feel ready, and have touched the calm that comes along with presence, how about breathing out, anything and everything you no longer need.
I hope these words ripple deep within you and enable you to ride the wave that is present for you with as much ease and peace as possible.
Again don’t hesitate to let me know how you are doing, I do love to hear from you.
With Love and deep respect
Vanessa
