Good morning beautiful people,
I hope you all had a good week. I am writing to you from Brussels, Belgium, where I went to fast for the Jewish day of atonement. It was actually the first time I fasted for that special day in a long time and it felt so very good to tune in and put my system to rest.
Lately, rest has had more room in my vocabulary as I have felt on the tired side. And when I do rest, a part of me tends to to feel bad not to be doing. A few years ago, I broke a wrist and a foot six months apart, and I recall having no other choice but to rest. It was taking my body so much energy to heal, that lying down and a lot of sleep had never felt so good. And somehow, I felt calm, clear, loving and happy not to be running around. So why do most of us have to wait until we have no other choice but to rest?
I’d like to invite you to take a deep breath in, breathing out everything and anything you no longer need, feeling your feet on the ground, the air going through your nostrils and simply tuning into your body. How are you feeling right now? As you slow down, is your body sinking a little deeper in the chair your might be sitting on? Or do your feet feel closer to the ground?
Lastly, I’d like to invite you to reconsider rest as active self care. Sometimes, rest is all we need to let go and find the energy to do with gusto. As my dance teacher said this weekend, “everything is a dance, no need to move our body necessarily.”
On this note, I have uploaded a new meditation about slowing down and coming into alignment. Please note that I have also extended my jewellery sale on the website until Sunday. Yes, I still do jewellery:)
There will be a full moon ceremony and guided meditation in London Town on October 15th, and it will be in Primrose hill. Please let me know if you would like to join, all welcome and no prior experience needed.
In the meantime, I am sending you beautiful restful energy.
Blessings
Vanessa
