Good morning beautiful people,
I do hope that you are safe and healthy, wherever you are in the world.
What we tend to resist, persists, so why do we not accept what is if we want anything to actually change? Maybe because feeling is hard, takes courage, openness and the belief from all of our being that we are going to be ok, feeling the discomfort.
Some of us can’t handle it though, usually because of repeated early childhood traumas where we were too little to cope with an emotion that kept showing up. So instead, we learned to check out and stop feeling. That’s when addictions come in and stops us from living our best life.
Jungian psychiatrist and author, James Hollis says the following: “to break an addiction we have to be able to face the unfaceable, think the unthinkable, bear the unbearable… The only way to go through them again is to go through them, to go down in that anxiety state and to feel what we really feel.”
Presence, awareness, breath and prayers might actually be the perfect combination to guide us through the trance of feeling the unthinkable and create a miracle.
So this is my wish for us all, that when things seem to go nowhere, practicing deep acceptance could just be the way to a new way.
Please don’t hesitate to comment and share, if you feel called to.
With love and deep respect,
